Never. NextStar is paid only when our artists are paid. Talent pays a flat fee per booked role, with all rates and deductions disclosed in writing before you sign anything. We do not charge upfront fees, headshot fees, training fees, hosting fees or 'admin' fees of any kind.

Every application receives a written response from a partner within 14 days. If we are not the right home for you today, we will tell you clearly why. Many artists we passed on early are on the roster now after circling back.

Strong materials help, but we have signed plenty of artists who applied with one self-tape and a phone photograph. We are reading for instinct, taste and craft, not production budget.

It means a finite, deliberately small roster (fewer than fifty artists across all three offices) and that every submission is read and prepared by a partner. If we cannot give a name our full attention we do not sign that name. The roster will never be larger than the attention we can give it.

Most of our artists work with a manager, an entertainment lawyer and territory agents in markets we don't cover directly. We coordinate the whole picture rather than compete with it. Exclusivity inside our covered territories is standard, and is fully laid out in the representation agreement.

We submit into SAG-AFTRA, Equity UK, BFFS Germany and ACTRA Canada projects directly, and partner with trusted local agents elsewhere. Our offices are in Los Angeles, London and Berlin; we travel to New York, Paris, Mexico City and Lagos several times each year.

There is no quota. In practice every artist on the roster gets a scheduled monthly check-in plus ad-hoc contact around live submissions, prep and offers. You will always know who at NextStar is reading your name on a breakdown.

Yes. Tape coaching, scene work and self-tape production are included for every artist on the roster, run by our in-house director, who only works with our talent. There is no extra charge.

We talk about it directly, well before the contract end-date. Either we re-set the strategy or we part ways gracefully and quickly. Quiet, professional exits are a feature of the roster, not a failure.
